Angas Plains Annual Grape Stomping Fun Lunch 11th March 2012
Give your tootsies a thorough scrub before making haste to Angas Plains Wines to get up to your ankles in grape juice. With the focus kept firmly on having the best kind of messy fun, the Angas Plains Wines annual grape stomping event kicks off 12 noon 11th March 20121, live music with Linda McCarthy and a scumptious three stage tapas lunch.
Grape stomping, probably the only part of winemaking that is as enjoyable as quaffing the end result, is a traditional method of breaking up the grape skins and other solid matter that sits on top of the grape juice in an open fermentation vat. The French might refer to this particular aspect of the winemaking process as pigeage but at Angas Plains Wines they’d much prefer if you just jumped in feet first and gave the grapes a good old gleeful stomping.
We do not use any of th ejuice it all goes out on the garden after your feet have crushed it. Good liquid fertiliser.
Stomper’s should be sure to sample the range of Angas Plains Wines available for tasting before purchasing a bottle to enjoy with lunch. Then its time to start tossing all shoes aside and climb up the ladder to begin the grape stomping. Kids will have a blast too, so take the whole family along for a hilarious day out.
Tickets for adults cost $60, $15 for children which is inclusive of lunch, music grapes and a whole lot of fun. Tables can be arranged for individuals who book online, just send email or call us with your names and we can reserve your table.
